If you like dates, you’ll probably love Jerusalem Toffees and their gooey chewy caramel flavour. You can change the texture to what you prefer by baking for longer. I prefer a crunchier outside and a chewy inside.
Method
Preheat your oven to 110ºC
Arrange dried whole dates in a baking dish or on a silicon matt and place in the oven for 30 – 90 minutes. 30 minutes if you prefer them softer and up to 90 minutes if you prefer them to be more crunchy chewy, with a stronger caramel flavour.
Once cooked to your preference, remove and cool. Once cool, store in an airtight container.
