This is not the sequel to “The Secret” it is in fact the prequel…
The Ultimate Secret is that there is no Secret! That’s it your done. No seriously, you can get on with your life now!
The “ultimate” joke of The Ultimate Secret (TUS) is that everyone you ever meet will try to sell you some pumped up version of TUS for as much as they can get from you, for as long as they can.
- If you have a secret and you tell that secret, can you still call it a secret?
- Isn’t a secret called that because nobody knows it, or maybe 1 or 2 people?
(From this point on “The Secret” will be expressed as TS.)
1. Before you rush out and buy TS, let me tell you what it is. It’s called the (make sure you read the next part with a booming God-like voice) “THE LAW OF ATTRACTION”. There, now you have it, done, or are you.
2. Why do you would want to “get” TS, especially now that it is no longer secret. (see 1. above)
What has the marketing of TS lead you to think, hope or wish TS will give you? What are you willing to pay or sacrifice for that Secret?
What is it that you want/NEED from TS?
- To Feel Complete
- Wisdom
- Pleasure
- Money
- Other, please be specific
And can TS give you this? Can it fill the void, the sense of “not enough” in your life?
Can any book, philosophy, religion, drug, herb, experience, belief, idea, concept, system of thought, non-thought, language, any-thing give you anything other than a “temporary” high? Which like everything inevitably will fade unless constantly re-inforced.
The Ultimate Question
This is a bit like in Douglas Adams, Hitchhikers Guide series where the super powerful computer Deep Thought was created by a pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent race of beings to come up with “the ultimate answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything“. When, after seven and a half million years of calculation, the answer finally turns out to be 42, Deep Thought’s creators sheepishly realize that they do not know the question from whence the ultimate answer turned out to be.
In the story – Deep Thought itself does not know “the ultimate question to Life, the Universe and Everything”, but offers to design an even more powerful computer Earth to calculate it. After ten million years of calculation, the Earth is destroyed by Vogons five minutes before the computation is complete.
The Secret’s Sequels
“The Ultimate Secret” – that’s been done here
What money making spin-offs will continue on from “The Secret”?
Now that you’re done reading, re-read substituting Thought Structure for TS!
Considering that I wrote this originally in 2007, I predicted that “The Secret” is really about making money and once revenue dried up from the first book there would ultimately be a 2nd, 3rd etc – hence “The Greatest Secret”, published 24 November 2020
From the sales pitch “Every question will be answered …” Rhonda’s marketing obviously have a very limited definition of “every”.
“… never again do you need to suffer.” unless you hit the gym a little hard of course …
“Once you know The Greatest Secret, freedom is yours.” Prior to that you’ll need to cough up the very reasonable sum of $xx.
Part of the dedication in her book says “Dedicated to all humanity”, she let out “who can afford my book.”
Universal Laws
The thing about Universal Laws is that they are, all together now, “Universal”.
What people will try and sell you is that your life will be so much better if you understand these laws your being sold and that then you’ll be in control. Understanding = control.
Why do you need to be in control/power? Do power and control exist where there is no fear?
Have any of your previous solutions worked?
Who came up with these things in the first place?
Remember: every religion considers itself a Universal Law and from the wars between them it seems like those Universal Laws don’t get along too well.
Other Fun-da-mental Bits
Magnetism’s attraction is not like attracting like it is opposites attracting. Positive poles are attracted to negative and vice versa. Like poles actually repel each other. (So according to magnetism if you want something you need to be the opposite to attract it.)
Can you attract what you don’t know you want? In my life much of what I appreciate most, needed most came out the blue so to speak. I sometimes wanted the opposite.
